Other Nations bolster their AERONAUTICAL presence- what’s the US doing ?

Several reports of two-pronged governmental and industry activities are included below. They show THAT BRAZIL AND THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (actually a single prong for PRC) are aggressively advancing their AVIATION relationships around the world. The above map helped to direct their efforts.
Embraer has published its 20-year forecast for commercial aircraft deliveries in the sub-150-seat category. The numbers show that the marketplace is significantly shifting from the past:
– Annual RPK regional growth rate – ranked
5.0% Asia Pacific (includes China)
4.9% Latin America
4.4% Africa
4.4% Middle East
3.3% Europe
2.4% North America
– RPK share by the end of 2043
38% Asia Pacific
38% Europe + North America
– Jet deliveries
– 8,470 (% share)
– by region
2,610 North America (30.8%)
2,260 China & Asia Pacific (26.7%)
2,110 Europe & CIS (24.9%)
770 Latin America (9.1%)
380 Africa (4.5%)
340 Middle East (4.0%)
This shift in the locus of sales should cause the FAA and industry to create stronger ties with these overseas commercial and regulatory counterparts. This is a significant challenge since 2018; the image of the Gold Standard and of our aeronautical preeminence was tarnished then. With a limited staff and resources[1], Assistant Administrator for Policy, International Affairs, and Environment Assistant Administrator, Laurence Wildgoose has had a difficult, if not impossible, task to restore the US’s status. His assignment was further aggravated when Congress deleted the word, PROMOTE, from its statutory mission.

The below stories show smart marketing efforts by Brazil + Embraer and PRC’s Ehang to dramatically enhance their global network.
- Establishing a bilateral partnership between Brazil and PRC to develop and certificate eVTOLs, which both are manufacturing.
- Meetings between the PRC and Spain
- Spain awarding a high level honor to EHang’s founder
- Embraer state and commercial visits to the PRC
Congress and the Administration MUST be aware of this problem, recognize that EASA is more focused competitor, authorize and fund a more robust international campaign.

These countries and companie[2]s are becoming increasingly important in the global aerospace market, driven by innovation and investment in new technologies.

EHang Holdings Limited (EHang or the company) the urban air mobility (UAM) technology platform company, announced that its EH216-S pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft system has obtained an Experimental Flight Authorization Certificate (CAVE) from BRAZIL’S NATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION AGENCY (ANAC).
The company plans to conduct test and trial flights in Brazil to demonstrate the EH216-S aircraft’s cutting-edge intelligent flight technology and cluster management system.
Following an exhaustive and diligent process comprising of thorough technical documentation review and aircraft and ground control station inspection, ANAC granted the CAVE for EH216-S in Brazil. Under ANAC’s CAVE framework, EHang and its local partner and operator Gohobby will conduct comprehensive EH216-S test and trial flight campaigns in Brazil in close collaboration with ANAC and Brazil’s Airspace Control Department (DECEA).
These initiatives aim to advance research and development of Concepts of Operations and Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management (UTM) systems and services, ensuring safe and efficient UAM deployments across Brazil.
In reaffirming its strong commitment on promoting and supporting international cooperation and development of advanced air mobility worldwide, EHang is in close COLLABORATION WITH VARIOUS CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITIES AROUND THE WORLD.
