The Journal’s posts always note that AVIATION SAFETY begins and ends with the MILLIONS of professionals who

  • fly,
  • maintain the complex machines called aircraft,
  • protect passengers,
  • assure the weight and balance are safe,
  • manage the boarding of the customers,
  • control the quality of the inventories,
  • track weather and advise flight crews of potential problems,
  • train all manner of personnel who run this system,
  • make the cabins clean,
  • load and unload the planes,
  • design and implement safety systems,
  • hire the best talent for aviation positions,
  • interact with the ATC,
  • staff those facilities with highly qualified professionals
  • maintain this dynamic, interconnected systems frequently under difficult circumstances.

 and

  • LAST but not LEAST provide/assure compliance of the regulations.

Though may not be categorized as “labor”, the women and men who manage all of these private sector and government jobs should be recognized as contributors to AVIATION SAFETY!!!
