What Is National Accessible Air Travel Day?

National Accessible Air Travel Day (NAATD) is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance (and current lack of) accessible air travel. Accessible air travel is about more than getting from one place to another—it’s about dignity, independence, and the ability to travel for work, pleasure, or to receive specialized health care—just to name a few reasons people travel by plane. For millions of travelers with disabilities, air travel is impossible due to the lack of a dedicated wheelchair spot on commercial airplanes.
About All Wheels Up (AWU)
Through research, education, and collaboration with airlines, manufacturers, and policymakers, AWU is driving meaningful progress toward making air travel accessible. AWU’s efforts are paving the way for wheelchair securement spots on planes and improved in-cabin experiences for passengers with disabilities. This year, All Wheels Up has set a goal of raising $25,000 to fund the advocacy, training, and research to make air travel safer, more inclusive, and truly accessible to passengers with disabilities.
How You Can Participate in NAATD
  • Spread the word about NAATD and the importance of inclusive travel on social media using #AccessibleAirTravel, #AllWheelsUp, and #NationalAccessibleAirTravelDay.
  • Share your own experiences and ideas for making air travel more accessible.
  • Donate to All Wheels Up: Visit https://allwheelsup.org/donate/ or Text FLY to 707070. Your generosity helps fund research and advocacy efforts for improving air travel.

Thank you for working with us to raise awareness, break down barriers, and champion accessible air travel. Together, we can make accessible air travel a reality for all.
