Liam McKenna named as the FAA’s new chief counsel

Prior to that he was

• Senate Commerce Committee General Counsel
• Chief Oversight & Investigations Counsel to the Committee since July 2023.
• General Counsel on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
• Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
• Associate general counsel at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
• general counsel and parliamentarian for Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (OGR), and before that in the same role for Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT).
• senior counsel for cybersecurity on OGR, chief counsel for Homeland Security for Chairman Ron Johnson on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC)
• investigative counsel for Ranking Member Tom Coburn on HSGAC.
• Before beginning his Hill career, he was an attorney and criminal investigator.
• 2012 graduate of the University of California Davis School of Law.
• Graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz
