Aviation and October 13, 2025

Without regard to where you live and/or what holiday you prefer to celebrate, today is a day off. While not preferring one label or the other, JDA wishes that you enjoy a day away from the office (or for virtual workers a day without staring at your computer.)
The Journal’s main beat is aviation safety and it is difficult to tie that theme to October 13. In a somewhat typical tone, two air observations relate to this Monday are made in the following brief text.
The first is to recognize the World War II Native North Americans who flew combat then. Unfortunately, the persons who recorded information for all who fought in that war were not careful about race or tribe. Fortunately, Mr. CoPilot and our own aviation temple, NASM, identified two noteworthy aviators indigenous to our continent:
The principles of aeronautics contributed to the other holiday. The ships that found this continent were propelled by the same air flow as a wing.
This is not intended to endorse what current histories condemned about this expedition. However, CANCEL CULTURE ignores that past failures provide the most powerful lessons for future behavior.
