ARTICLE: Eduardo Angeles Appointed FAA Associate Administrator For Airports

Welcome to Washington, Mr. Angeles in your position of leading one of the FAA’s premier organizations. The Airports team has shown exceptional understanding of the unusual, if not unique, understanding of the safety, economic/financial and operational circumstances of the entities which they regulate.

A graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara undergraduate program and of the University of California Hastings law school plus experience as the Los Angeles World Airports, Counselor Angeles, he is well prepared for the job. He lists as some of his writings two relevant articles- Trends in Airport Procurements and Risk Management Issues for Airport Lawyers; so it is quite clear that he has deep understanding of the legal, commercial and safety issues of his new job.

The Associate Administrator for Airports has tremendous responsibilities. The industry has benefited from past occupants of this office who applied extensive experience to the job. Mr. Angeles fits nicely into that tradition.

Good job, Administrator Huerta in filling this vacancy with a knowledgeable person.
