ARTICLE: NAA Announces John and Martha King as Recipient of 2012 Brewer Trophy for Aviation Education

Since the creation of the trophy in 1943, the Brewer Trophy Committee has selected primarily academics and governmental employees (the National Air and Space Museum docents won in 2005) for this prestigious award. In the midst of considerable commentary about deteriorating pilot skills are this year’s recipients.

Piloting requires a variety of skills and the Kings have designed course materials which facilitate the students’ command of every element of the knowledge and abilities needed to control a plane. The recognition of the commercial sector of the pilot educational segment is most timely in that solely relying on the governmental and academic arenas will not work.
