In what has to be one of the most bizarre pendency of a Senate confirmation, the nomination of Michael Huerta to move from Deputy Administrator to Administrator came to a conclusion on December 31, 2012. No press release has yet been issued by the DoT or FAA, no notice by The Washington Post, only the astute GAMA and A4A PR organizations PR organization issued a comment on New Year’s Day. The Senate would ordinarily not be in session on the last day of the year, but the Fiscal Cliff compelled the senior body to be open on Monday.

However it happened, whatever the reason the vote finally happened, it is appropriate to say:

CONGRATULATIONS, MR. ADMINISTRATOR!!!!
