ARTICLE: Bee swarm holds back Delta Air Lines flight in Pittsburgh

This Delta CRJ 700 was being refueled at Pittsburgh International Airport and during that activity this swarm of migrating bees chose the trailing edge of this aircraft to “nest” there. Delta had to find an expert to humanely remove the insects (they are protected under some federal law), which was done with only one sting to the B check crew. The incident caused a 47 minute delay, but the NTSB has not decided to initiate an investigation.
As odd as this story may seem, this was not the only such B event at PIT. According to the story, there have been at least 3 prior B nestings of aircraft. Does this make PIT a hive of apiary activity?
