PRESS RELEASE: FSF Announces New CEO – Former UTC Executive Joins FSF Team
The Flight Safety Foundation is uniquely positioned within the aviation safety community. It is truly independent with no known biases; its competence is at a very high level; its opinions and positions are accepted as gospel. In that context, the announcement, that its new CEO will be Jon Beatty, whose resume is impressive and whose experience will be a great addition to FSF’s mission, is good news.
Having been deeply involved in international sales at International Aero Engines, Pratt & Whitney, BF Goodrich and Allied Signal Aerospace, his comprehension of the sensitivities of foreign customers and governments will help guide the spreading of the aviation safety gospel around the world. The diplomatic skills developed, while President and CEO of IAE, a multinational consortium of US, Japanese and German manufacturers, will provide the sensitivity needed to convince other countries that the enhanced standards developed by FSF will contribute to their aviation stature.
It will be interesting to see how Mr. Beatty guides this able organization technically and as to its geographic influence.
